I am a self confessed serial maker of artworks. Instagram is the place to go to see what I have been up to. I sell a huge range of ready to machine CNC vector files on my Etsy store here
I’m not entirely sure how it all started, but over the last few years I’ve been creating CNC-cut stipple artwork.
Each piece begins as a raster image, usually a photograph, which I convert into a detailed vector made up of around 6,500 individual circles. The size and position of every stipple work together to create tone, depth and detail, resulting in a finished image.
That vector is then used to generate a toolpath and the G-code that my CNC machine follows. After plenty of experimentation, persistence, and more than a few failed attempts along the way, I’ve gradually refined both the vector-generation process and the machining technique itself.
I now offer a range of stipple artwork in both physical and digital download formats. It’s awesome to see that people all over the world have made my designs using files purchased from my Etsy shop. I also offer a custom stipple file creation service, turning your own photographs into unique stipple artwork.
Some of my most popular pieces are featured below and are available to purchase in three sizes. I’m also happy to produce other existing designs, as well as custom commissions. Please get in touch if you have something in mind.
Generative Artwork
Is any machine made art, really art? I'll leave that to the TikTok and Instagram comments but either way the concepts explored in generative art fascinates me. With the help of AI, I have developed a few software applications that I use to generate the vectors used to then create the work on the CNC. Cool hey.
